Great service, delicious steak. We were celebrating a birthday with a party of 10 and everything went smoothly.

Went here for my birthday celebration Nov. 2024. Had the delicious cheesebread then salad. Ordered the porterhouse steak. It was charbroied all right, delicious smoky flavor but hardly any salt and seasonings. So I had to use Worcestershire sauce, A1, and Heinz 57 sauces to add some kick. Twice baked potato was excellent and hearty. An extra pat of butter did the trick! Had a little vanilla sundae as a birthday special. Wait staff was attentive and excellent. Only thing wrong were noisy children, who were just wailing and being naughty. But I ignored them. Didn't stop me from enjoying my meal. I know I'll be back sooner than the previous interval of 8 years. I was here last Christmas of 2016.

I absolutely LOVE Backwoods Inn.. I have been coming here for many years.. LOVE the staff, LOVE the food and the cocktails are pretty good too! BUT I don't understand that if I order a dinner and an extra side salad ( the side salad is $10) I kinda understand if your going to skimp on the salad that comes with the dinner...but the extra $10 side salad should be a nice size..it's lettuce! Unfortunately it was not!!! That's my only complaint:(

What a pleasure to eat at Backwoods Inn. It happened to be their 56 year of business, and there is a reason they have survived this long. Great steaks, awesome twiced baked potato, and personalized service. Our server tonight was Sandy, what a sweetheart, funny, personable, and good at her job. Carol, who is an owner stopped at our table and was so friendly and welcoming that it was like visiting family. Please note that this is aged beef and will taste a little different flavor than the large chain steakhouses. I like the flavor and tenderness of the mesquite grilled bone in ribeye that I ordered. The staff was happy and responsive to water's, drinks, ect. This is a hidden gem and deserves more than a locals steakhouse. The prices are not as low as the large chains, but trust me.. you get what you pay for.

3/20/24 I had the pleasure of dining at here and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the perfectly cooked porterhouse steak I ordered. Every bite was bursting with flavor, cooked to perfection just as I like it. The twice baked potato was amazing! What truly set this dining experience apart was the impeccable service provided by Sandy, our server. She was not only knowledgeable about the menu but also went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable and enjoyable time. Her attentiveness and friendly demeanor made the evening even more delightful. Overall, I highly recommend Backwoods for anyone looking for a fantastic dining experience with delicious food and outstanding service. I will definitely be returning soon!

Old school steak house and bar with history going back to 1968. They don't take reservations, but have lots of seating. We did not make plans for New Year's Eve this year so we went to Backwoods for an early dinner. We arrived when they opened at 4pm. I would say there were about 25 people seated ahead of us. The bar filled up first. We finished our dinner around 5:30 and the wait area was packed. We were able to be seated in a nice booth and our waitress Rita was wonderful! We are always grateful to retaurant workers who work during the busy holiday season. We started with a martini, a beer, and garlic bread. The prime rib was delicious. Well seasoned and served with the famous stuffed potato. Do not skip the stuffed potato! They are the perfect size so you can eat the entire potato. The filet mignon was perfectly cooked and just the right size (6 oz.) We both added king crab legs to our steak orders and were so happy we did. They were decadent and easy to eat! We took a piece of cheesecake home to share later that night. Our only mistake was we should have gotten two pieces of cheesecake as the slices are very small. Our entire bill with drinks, bread, 2 steak and king crab leg dinners and 1 cheesecake with a 20% tip was $200. Very reasonable for the wonderful meal, service and ambiance. There is plenty of parking and a great bar area as well. If you haven't been here, it is a must try.
